Born out of necessity. Grown with care.

How it started.

Uvisan began life as a single use case for the UV Cabinets when parent company Immotion VR Limited were on the hunt for a suitable hygiene solution for Virtual Reality Headsets being used in their 40 seat VR Aquarium in Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, prior to the Covid Pandemic.

The products available on the market were ineffective and focused only on disinfection of the part of the headset that actually touched the face (viral transmission happens predominantly through the hands) and were also simply too expensive to consider as a multiple headset solution. Hence, head of Technology and Engineering, Jarek Salek set about designing Uvisans UV Cabinets. The design was a success and allowed the VR Theatre to operate safely and effectively, keeping down time to a minimum. Covid hit and presented an obvious need for the UV Cabinets on a much larger scale, Uvisan was born.

Since its conception, Uvisan has gone from strength to strength supplying UV Cabinets for a variety of uses across the globe. The cabinets were used to speed up the filming process in the production of Shaun the Sheep by Stop Motion Animation Specialists Aardman Studios. The National Health Service (NHS) uses UV Cabinets in a number of training centres throughout the United Kingdom. Unsurprisingly, the UV Cabinets largest use case remains Virtual Reality being used by British Film Institute, RAF Hado and are also officially recommended by Hewlett Packard for disinfection Virtual Reality Headsets.

Cleanroom has also recently launched and had its first installation in University of Chichester. Disinfecting entire spaces in 10 minutes, Cleanroom is expected to change the way we see shared spaces and we adapt to new challenges and the planet establishes its ‘new normal’.
